ColoradoBiz is Colorado's recognized source of business news and leads. We have an opening for a strategic, innovative and results-oriented part-time Editor.
As an editor at ColoradoBiz, you will play a crucial role in shaping our brand identity and enhancing our storytelling through multimedia content. The ideal candidate is a creative and detail-oriented individual with a strong editing background. You will collaborate closely with content creation teams to produce high-quality, compelling content that resonates with our niche audience.
Duties + Responsibilities:
- Editing: Assign stories to freelancers for the quarterly print edition of ColoradoBiz, based on topics from an editorial calendar. Edit daily content for the website and email newsletter. Re-write press releases and curate stories from content partners on a daily basis.
- Manage submission forms for lists and awards on the ColoradoBiz Wordpress site. This includes updating the forms and activating or de-activating the forms as needed. Lists include the Top 200 Private Companies, Top 100 Woman-Owned Companies and Top 50 Family-Owned Companies. Forms for awards include CEO of the Year, Made in Colorado Awards and Top Entrepreneur.
- Stay Current: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas and techniques to the team.
- Workflow Management: Effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Be A Leader: Availability to lend a hand with company-sponsored events and be a face of the company through networking events and frequent contact with the Colorado business community.
Skills + Requirements:
- MUST BE BASED IN DENVER, COLORADO AREA.
- Bachelor's degree in English, journalism or a related field.
- Proven experience in editing and managing a team of freelance writers.
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and Wordpress.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity and the ability to think critically about visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Knowledge of current trends in multimedia content creation and digital editorial products.
- Reliable home internet connection with minimum 50mbps up/10mbps down
