Job Purpose

The copywriter will be responsible for rewriting press releases in a clear and concise manner for IJGlobal, an energy and infrastructure publication headquartered in London but with offices in Sofia, Singapore and New York.

As a writer for IJGlobal, you will be required to write business news articles with rolling deadlines throughout the day. This industry is one of the most active for greenfield and brownfield infrastructure and energy projects, driven by some of the biggest companies in the world and financed by the largest institutions. These are impactful deals with massive significance on the ground.

Principal responsibilities

• Rewrite press releases to IJGlobal house style
• Cross-check with database entries (with support from managers)
• Accurate tagging to database
• Integration into the broader news product
• Linking to previous news stories on IJGlobal
• Collaborating with other team members and other functions
• Work closely with Commoditised Content Manager, relevant editor and assistant editor

Essential skills, knowledge & experience

• Strong written English - strong verbal command of the language and grammar
• Strong ability to interpret content and articulate in a clear, concise manner
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet daily deadlines
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality content
• Desirable - but not essential - experience in financial writing, research or investment-related communications
• Strong communicator
• Team player
