Job Description:
WKU seeks applicants for the position of Director of Creative Video. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications/Marketing, in partnership with WKU Public Media, this position is responsible for visualizing, producing, shooting, editing and delivering high-energy video and motion content for WKU Athletics.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead creative video department for WKU Athletics, with focus on social media and storytelling
- Produce high quality, creative videos for WKU Athletics
- Coordinate video content plan for WKU Athletics
- Coordinate content creation, content requirements for Conference USA, and content requests for other WKU departments and media partners
- Assist with videoboard content creation
- Serve as creative video lead for all sports, with team of students assisting
- Supervise non-broadcast related athletics productions and crew
- Collaborate with WKU Athletics Marketing and Communications departments on video needs
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and training of crew members on use of athletics related production equipment and processes
- Assist with management and archival of media assets
- Supervise Student Workers: May recommend the following: hiring, firing, disciplinary action, staffing assignments and scheduling.
- Creative video content lead for WKU Athletics awards (TOPSYs) and Hilltopper Athletic Foundation
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
- Demonstrated ability to generate high quality video projects
- Demonstrated ability to acquire high quality audio inside of a video production
- General knowledge and skills that will provide success in the duties above
- Knowledge of and operational skills related to video acquisition equipment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and solutions focused approach to challenges and improvements
- Demonstrated experience in storytelling
- Ability to travel, have a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Requirements:
- Minimum two years of sports video production experience
- Minimum two years of experience creating promotional content
- Minimum two years of experience with postproduction software (Final Cut, Adobe Creative Cloud products and/or Avid Media)
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $46,620 to $50,000
