Summary:

The primary role of a Content Specialist is to write, review, and edit content on our platforms, often addressing nuanced and sensitive topics, and to derive insights from that content. An ideal candidate will possess excellent editorial judgment along with expert writing and editing skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, and review content for Meta platforms, ranging from creative copy to straightforward, informative text.
  • Perform analysis and generate reports with compelling, actionable insights for our partners.
  • Apply review guidelines to content at scale, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborate with content and product teams to enhance user experience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work an extended schedule as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in journalism, digital content strategy, production, and relevant skills.
  • Prior experience in prompt engineering, annotation, and managerial roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a proven track record of editorial judgment on nuanced topics (politics, bias, gender, religion, etc.) for quality control of large text datasets.
  • Familiarity with AI tools.
  • Proficiency in AP Style.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet applications (e.g., Google Sheets, MS Excel) and/or other data analytics tools.
  • Ability to perform and support basic data analysis and visualization.
  • Expertise in audio or video.
  • Background in visual experience (photo editing, video production) or creative writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of the social media landscape.
  • Experience in system prompting or prompt engineering.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Location: Remote (West Coast Preferred)

Role type: Contract 6 Month Position

Expected hours: 40 per week
