About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its newly formed School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong commitment to the performing arts and a deep understanding of the cross-disciplinary needs of music and theatre arts students. This role involves championing the strength and vibrancy of the performing arts experience, fostering an environment of collaboration, and being a compelling advocate for the arts both within the institution and in the wider community. The Dean will also be responsible for strategic planning, and fundraising, and must have a distinguished academic record to qualify for a tenured appointment at the rank of professor. Candidates for the Dean position should be inspiring, collaborative, and creative, with a proven track record in academic leadership. The role requires the ability to listen to and address the needs of faculty and staff, as well as a passion for student development. Strong organizational and personnel management skills are essential, and experience in performing arts administration is a plus. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of executing a vision that aligns with the institution's goals and will have the capacity to cultivate relationships with alumni and other stakeholders. A background in the performing arts, whether as a scholar, practitioner, or administrator, is highly valued, and the Dean will be expected to contribute to the overall excellence and innovation of the institution.
