ASI currently has a hybrid work model. This position requires in person attendance at our office on Tuesday's and Wednesday's.
As a Web Developer Intern, you'll gain exposure to some of the fundamental aspects of object-oriented programming (OOP) and web open-source technologies. You'll also have a chance to use your strong academic knowledge to discuss challenges, make plans, and solve problems in a team. You will leverage the latest web technologies such HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks and libraries and see your code launched into a product used by many people.
The Web Developer Intern will report directly to the Director, Software Engineering and join a dev team, doing design-focused development work in an up-to-date Angular codebase, learning how modern front-end dev work is done in a collaborative, asynchronous environment.
This is a paid internship with an hourly pay-rate of $20.00 per hour. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our design team to design, refine, and develop a high-quality user experience
- Bring designs to life using performant and standards-compliant HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Learn to develop in an Angular(19) Monorepo
- Communicate with APIs and external web services
- Write Unit, Integration and end-to-end tests for your front-end code
- Participate in Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment practices and get real-world experience with the challenges and triumphs of writing code in a team
Qualifications:
- Currently a junior or senior undergrad student pursuing their degree in Computer Science; Software Engineering; Information Science; Human Computer Interaction; or Front End Web Development
- Working knowledge of web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SCSS)
- Professional, precise communication skills
- Familiarity with C#, Node.js, Angular, or similar programming languages is a plus
- Detail oriented, fast learner, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- An interest in working with WCAG accessibility guidelines is particularly appreciated!
