Position Summary:

Advance Huntsville Botanical Garden's mission through effective digital communication and ongoing engagement with our current and prospective guests and garden supporters. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, a deep understanding of social media platforms, and the ability to craft engaging content that resonates with our audiences across multiple channels.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and execute content for the editorial calendar to support reputation, participation, and revenue goals. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to maintain Garden's social media strategy, presence, and engagement. Create original, engaging long-form and short-form videos and static content for existing and future social media platforms including, but not limited to: LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and TikTok. Collaborate with content creators throughout the organization to foster alignment on voice and style. Contribute to the collection and curation of garden photos by month. Perform necessary duties related to digital asset management and archiving. Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to synchronize communications timing and ensure consistency of messaging through all audience touch points. Contribute to the formulation and championing of a data-driven understanding of the Garden's nonmember visitors, visitors, donors, volunteers, and other key stakeholders and the public. Post approved social media content to social media channels using a post platform and/or post to native channels. Post Garden events on area community calendars. Leverage Canva templates to create social media posts that adhere to Garden brand standards. Consolidate basic success metrics on social media posts, e.g., impressions, engagements, comments, etc. Provide insight on areas for content improvement. Stay up to date on social media industry trends, as well as trends in social media specific to the public gardens and horticulture industry and performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field and 1+ years of related professional experience required. Requires excellent writing and grammar skills, digital photography/videography and related editing skills and software proficiency. Requires a solid understanding of the use of audience research, analytics, personas, and trends.

Experience in botanical gardens, museums, cultural institutions, advertising agency, or related organization. Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other data analytics. Proficiency in Associated Press writing style. Videography experience a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical Demands: This position is required to continuously communicate with people internal and external to the Garden. Occasionally requires the ability to lift up to 15 lbs. Work Environment: Fast-paced office environment. Work is frequently performed indoors with occasional outdoor activity in varied and uneven terrains and all-weather conditions for events or programs. Equipment: General office equipment.
