One of our consumer goods e-comm/retail clients is looking for a talented and experienced Sr. Packaging Designer to join their team on a contract-to-hire (or possibly direct hire) basis.

This Sr. Packaging Designer will be responsible for creating visually stunning and engaging designs for a range of product packaging systems.

The Sr. Packaging Designer should be conceptual/creative, but also able and willing to handle some production responsibilities as well. Must be comfortable developing packaging design identity and systems, and able to hand off work to offshore production teams with clear creative/design direction.

Ideal Sr. Packaging Designer candidates will have:

  1. At least 5-10+ years of agency/in-house experience as a Designer, Art Director, or Design leader
  2. BA degree in graphic design or relevant field
  3. Proven experience as a Packaging Designer, Graphic Designer with an emphasis on packaging, or similar role in print design/print production.
  4. Fully proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent tools.
  5. Strong portfolio showcasing skills in designing impactful packaging, print assets, etc.
  6. Excellent understanding of typography, color theory, layout composition principles.
  7. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop visually appealing designs for print materials such as brochures, flyers, packaging, and promotional materials.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that align with the brand guidelines.
  3. Create compelling layouts by utilizing typography, imagery, color schemes, and other design elements.
  4. Conduct thorough research on industry trends and competitors’ designs to stay up-to-date with the latest design techniques.
  5. Work closely with printers and vendors to ensure accurate production of printed materials.
  6. Provide guidance to junior designers in executing design projects effectively.
