Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic Marketing & Communications Coordinator for a temporary six-month role in a higher education setting. This position will contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies and communications for University Services, with a strong focus on event planning and management.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Communications and Content Creation:
    Develop and implement communication strategies to engage students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. Manage content creation for newsletters, social media, websites, and other digital platforms. Ensure consistent and strategic messaging across all channels.
  2. Event Planning and Management:
    Coordinate and support university services events, including planning, logistics, and promotional activities. Collaborate with various departments to ensure successful execution of events. Track event metrics and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  3. Marketing Support:
    Assist in the execution of marketing plans, including designing and supervising content creation for print and digital materials. Support social media efforts, including content timeline and monitoring engagement. Use data analytics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and recommend improvements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
Normal office environment. Typically sitting at a desk or a table. Office equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
  2. Certifications: No specific certification is required for this position.
  3. Work Experience: Relevant Experience (3 Years).
  4. Skills: Not Applicable.
  5. Driver’s License: A driver’s license is not required for this position.

More About This Job:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  2. At least two years of professional experience with writing, editing and optimizing content for digital and print communications.
  3. At least two years of experience in marketing communications or event planning.
  4. Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
  5. Ability to understand, interpret, and explain policies.
  6. Proficient in software/program skills – Microsoft Office Suite, survey tools, social media platforms, WordPress, Adobe Creative, Canva and MyEmma.
  7. Proven ability to foster productive working relationships with diverse constituencies.
  8. Ability to think outside of the box and develop creative solutions.
  9. Curious, analytical, technological bent.
  10. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain absolute confidentiality.
