Job Summary

This position will coordinate, distribute, and help to generate all marketing, PR, and social media material for The Grand Theatre, including maintaining a marketing schedule and tracking marketing expenses.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Maintaining and updating The Grand Theatre’s social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and The Grand Theatre App.
  2. Filming cast and production team interviews for PR, social media outlets, and local advertisements.
  3. Filming rehearsal footage for PR, social media outlets, and local advertisements.
  4. Coordinating The Grand’s website updates.
  5. Coordinating dates, times, and materials for advertising outlets.
  6. Drafting Grand Theatre press releases.
  7. Assisting in generating and distributing all Grand Theatre marketing materials, including posters, brochures, postcards, social media postings, and digital advertising.
  8. Posting Grand Theatre events to various community calendars.
  9. Assisting in creating and executing promotional events, contests, and ticket discounts.
  10. Coordinating outreach efforts with local high schools and organizations such as theatre groups and senior groups.

Minimum Qualifications

- GED or High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in live theatre, performing arts, or non-profit arts organizations.
  2. Spanish speaking.
  3. Basic skills in PhotoShop, Illustrator, iMovie, and PowerPoint.
  4. Previous experience in social media, PR, or marketing.
  5. Associates Degree.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Able to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
  2. Able to use and maintain forms and spreadsheets in Google Docs.
  3. Able to complete short and long-term projects with little supervision.
  4. Ability to use common social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and maintain good working relationships across the College.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assisting in updating Grand Theatre schedules for various SLCC departments.
  2. Assisting with box office operations when required.
  3. Participating in department meetings.
  4. Other duties as assigned.
