UCF College of Nursing will be moving to UCF Academic Health Sciences Campus at Lake Nona, anticipated to open in Fall 2025.

The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Nursing (CON) is seeking well-qualified candidates for a Marketing Communications Specialist I position. This position will be reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications. The Marketing Communications Specialist I will promote the College of Nursing to internal and external audiences, market the college's degree programs and community impact, and engage alumni and the local community in college activities. This position will assist with the coordination, administration, and implementation of various marketing communication projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and assist in the creation of digital visual materials (graphics and video shooting and editing) and copy for integrated marketing and communications projects.

  • Oversee inventory of marketing equipment including film and photography gear including media room as needed.

  • Work collaboratively to implement the established UCF/CON social media strategy assigned by the marketing director while working closely with the marketing team.

  • Post for the College of Nursing accounts for topics related to the college including events, alumni, and outreach to increase exposure and reputation of the College on social media (Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others as needed).

  • Maintain, update, and edit the content on the Nursing website using WordPress as needed.

  • Coordinate and support marketing and communications outreach for college events including recognition, graduation ceremonies, White Coat Ceremonies, Career Fairs, conferences, and other events.

  • Act as videographer and photographer for nursing events creating content for CON social media and/or actively direct hired photographers and videographers.

  • Maintain photo and video archive.

  • Provide marketing communications support to internal constituents including advancement, alumni relations, events, faculty and staff, leadership, and regional campuses. This could include but is not limited to designing and distributing flyers, external emails, digital and social media, promotional materials and conference supplies, media room support, and editing.

  • Extend visibility, grow credibility, and engage with stakeholders by monitoring nursing platforms.

  • Represent the College of Nursing in the central marketing social media managers group.

  • Maintain and publish reporting data for marketing campaigns and social media.

  • Writing and editing to include scripts, articles, biographies, College history and news.

  • Cross-train with fellow marketing team members to ensure consistent support for the College.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with technology including various software systems for web editing through WordPress and social media including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, etc.

  • Digital skills with content creation for social media including taking videos and photos, creating graphics, and editing videos in Canva to post on various media. Knowledge of graphic design and photography/video editing software.

  • Ability to meet deadlines by prioritizing, organizing, and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously and accurately in a detail-oriented environment.

The most successful candidates may possess the following qualities:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience working with email marketing programs.

  • Excellent copy writing and editing skills.
