Remington College is seeking an Instructional Designer!

If you’re a highly motivated professional with experience in instructional design and cirriculum development we are looking for you! This dynamic role is ideal for an individual passionate about education and collaboration with faculty, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to create high-quality courses that enhance the learning experience for adult learners in career and technical programs. The instructional designer ensures that all learning materials are accessible, innovative, and aligned with the college’s standards of excellence and its accrediting body.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop online, hybrid, and in-person instructional materials, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyze content, identify learning needs, and create effective instructional strategies.
  • Utilize learning theories, instructional models, and technology tools to create engaging and innovative course content.
  • Develop course content, including interactive activities, assessments, multimedia elements, and supporting materials.
  • Provide training and support to faculty on using instructional technologies and best practices in teaching and learning developed course content.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and revise content based on feedback and performance data.
  • Stay current with trends and advancements in instructional design, technology, and adult learning principles.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining a high standard of quality.
  • Performs the job remote but may be required to be on site when required. Subject to change if superseded by Human Resource policy regarding remote work.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or e-learning design in an educational setting.
  • Proficiency with Brightspace and design tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with multimedia development tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, video editing software) is a plus.
