Location: Culver City, CA

Schedule: 3 Days Onsite

Pay: Up to $86/hour DOE

Planet Interactive is looking for a Photo Producer to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 9-month contract. This role will work 40 hours per week and will require you to be onsite 3 days per week in their Culver City office.

Photo Producer Responsibilities

  • Be a visual storyteller with a deep understanding of photography and film, driven by a passion for crafting moments that resonate.
  • Understand equal parts of creative and production oversight.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Art Directors to take shoots from brief to commissioning, production, post-production, and launch.
  • Use your knowledge of photographers, directors, and DPs worldwide in commissioning these creatives, making you adept at bringing ambitious projects to life.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of news, culture, and global events.
  • Excel at creating compelling editorial narratives and content strategies.
  • You possess strong project, budget, and time management skills, balancing multiple commissions seamlessly in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Incredibly organized and collaborative, you’re a motivated self-starter who stays calm under pressure.
  • Your enthusiasm for culture and lifestyle, combined with an eye for detail and craft-focused skills, ensures that every project is executed with precision and care.

Photo Producer Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant photo editing or multimedia experience; bonus for tours in journalistic magazines, newspapers or online news.
  • BA/BS in journalism, communication or photography preferred.
  • A well-developed aesthetic that connects with journalistic photography and video, and the portfolio to prove it including examples of original commissions that reflect a consistent, A+ taste level and excellent execution.
  • Expert at shoot commissioning and production, fee negotiation, contracts, and creative direction.
  • Meticulous budget management.
  • Knowledge of image rights and legal clearance processes for commissioned content.
  • Ability to find compelling editorial stories that resonate on a global scale.
  • A global network of photographers, directors, and DPs.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative, great to work with on a team, and instinctively understand the value of building great relationships across an organization, from marketing, HR, internal production teams and more.
  • Keen ability to create work under minimal supervision, as well as package and present solutions to wider creative teams.
  • Portfolio showing extraordinary talent in delivering top-tier photo and video.
  • Flexibility to accommodate travel when needed.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
