Summary:
The Graphic Designer for School of Rock manages School of Rock’s design and execution of marketing collateral and campaign materials. They are responsible for complex design strategies and initiatives, creative leadership, high-level concept development, and contributing significantly to the brand's visual identity. As a creative leader, the Graphic Designer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Operations, Education, and Franchise Development to conceptualize and deliver innovative designs that support business goals. This individual needs to be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial conception to final production. The Graphic Designer plays a pivotal role in evolving School of Rock’s brand by staying informed on design trends and industry best practices. Their creative input helps shape the look and feel of everything from ad campaigns and event signage to corporate presentations and video production, reinforcing School of Rock as the leader in music education. They should be able to translate ideas into engaging designs, think strategically about brand storytelling, and deliver high-impact creative solutions that inspire audiences. This person should be resourceful and bring professionalism and enthusiasm to the work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ideate larger advertising campaign ideas, then develop visual assets for digital ads, social media, and print tactics according to best practices and platform specifications
- Design layouts, graphics, and templates for advertisements, brochures, posters, and other promotional materials
- Collaborate with the digital team and web developers to create and maintain cohesive website graphics, maintain brand integrity, and optimize designs for web and mobile, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as marketing, operations, and education
- Ensure brand standards are maintained across all designs
- Collaborate with the events team to design signage for live events and conferences
- Develop and present design concepts to executives and key stakeholders
- Prepare print-ready files and work with vendors to ensure high-quality production.
- Manage multiple design projects, deadlines, and priorities from conception to completion in a fast-paced environment
- Form and maintain relationships with major music publishers to acquire and retain song sync licenses
- Retouch and enhance photos to ensure high-quality, polished images for use across web, print, and social media channels
- Assist in set design, shot framing, and art direction during photoshoots and video shoots and collaborate with videographers/editors to ensure consistency with brand guidelines
- Assist in the creative direction for music-related content, including promotional materials for performances, artist spotlights, and event branding
- Develop professional PowerPoint decks, brochures, and other corporate materials
- Work closely with video editors, sound designers, and multimedia specialists to produce engaging content
Other responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with key production partners, agencies, and vendors
- Stay updated with the latest design trends and technologies
- Manage external temporary resources such as contractors when design workload requires
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital media arts, or relevant field required
- Motion Graphics and Animation experience required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in graphic design
- Proven experience with Adobe Design Suite including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
- Experience in video and music production preferred
- Knowledge of music and/or the music industry is preferred
- Web and Mobile Interface Design skills a plus
- Understanding and basic proficiency in generative AI tools preferred
- Skilled at juggling multiple projects, setting priorities, and problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible under pressure
