MAKEUP BY MARIO is searching for a Visual Merchandising Manager who will work closely in assisting the Pre-Production manager in delivering high-end retail outcomes across our global markets; North America, Europe, The Middle East, South East Asia and the Antipodes.


The ideal candidate has extensive experience working across retail outcomes including; gondolas, windows, end-caps, front of store, towers, beauty studios, events etc.


The role requires the ability to adapt quickly to changes, solve problems efficiently, and ensure that all final assets meet the brand's high-quality standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Concept and develop visual merchandising for Sephora stores in all MBM markets in close partnership with art directors, pre-production manager and marketing teams. Includes 20+gondola iterations, endcaps, windows, towers, front of store, beauty studios, events.
  • Create renderings and design development drawings for briefing vendors and internal alignments on gondola engineering + events/physical activations.
  • Review mechanical drawings/engineering drawings and pre production prototypes to ensure alignment to design intent.
  • Collaborate with Creative and Trade marketing teams on initial design development.
  • Partner with pre-production manager to identify and share necessary design assets prior to design and its release.
  • Create 3D planograms/rendering to support retail display strategies and assortment movement options.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:


  • 5+ years of experience in high-end design and pre-press roles.
  • Beauty experience required, with experience in servicing Sephora retail.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Advanced typography skills, with a strong understanding of hierarchy, weighting and spacing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment without sacrificing delivery quality.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Knowledge of pre-production workflows, including file management and archiving.


This freelance role is compensated at $50 an hour, requires 24 hours per week and a part-time presence at our headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
