Position Overview

This position oversees strategy, instruction, mentorship, and support of the Raikes School Startup Studio, a variation of Design Studio that fosters entrepreneurial growth of students. The position works with faculty and staff to deliver an experiential startup capstone as well as startup activities and instruction for other students in the Raikes School. The position will foster relations with entrepreneurial connections on campus, in the local community and across the state of Nebraska and beyond. This position will coordinate events supporting startup culture, establish mentoring opportunities, and, in general, seek opportunities to strengthen and grow the program.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, data science, or related field and at least three years of experience working in startup businesses in the software or technology industry as founder, project manager, product development or related field.
  • Experience leading technology or product development direction.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Evidence of excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to network and build relationships with community and institutional partners.
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience with startup business operations and challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage/prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, data science, or related field.
  • Experience working with and mentoring students.
  • Experience in higher education. Experience in sales within a startup business.
  • Direct experience in developing software/technology solutions.
  • Evidence of knowledge of software and technology development life cycles.
  • Strong familiarity with startup financing models and analyses.

Posted Salary: $85,000/yr. minimum
