Job Description - Multimedia Coordinator, Operations, Training & Publication (250000SH) About the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Since its creation as the nation's first state-level inspector general's office, the Massachusetts OIG has been at the forefront of promoting effective government and the responsible use of public money and property. The OIG is an independent agency charged with preventing and detecting fraud, waste and abuse in the use of public funds and public property. Operations, Training & Publications Bureau The Operations, Training & Publications Bureau is managed by the Chief Operating Officer and plays a crucial role within the OIG. It is responsible for a variety of functions, including budgeting, revenue, auditing, financial reporting, office administration, procurement, operations information technology, communications, publications, human resources, data analytics, and records management. Operations The Operations Division (OPS) plays a crucial role within the OIG. It is responsible for a variety of functions, including budgeting, human resources, office administration, case management, procurement, operations, information technology, cybersecurity, communications, and records management. The Multimedia Coordinator would support all aspects of the OIG's external and internal communications strategies. This position would maintain and develop content for the OIG's web properties, email newsletters, and social media channels. Additionally, this position would produce multimedia content as needed including video, images, documents, interactive content, and other materials in collaboration across all OIG Bureaus as required. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist with the maintenance of agency website using content management system, ensuring content accuracy, timeliness, and relevance. Actively manage OIG's social media presence and create digital content across networks (e.g., Twitter and LinkedIn); assist with expansion and respond to comments/messaging when needed. Help produce newsletter and other email updates for external and internal audiences. Produce multimedia in support of OIG's mission including video, images, interactive content. Design and format documents to conform with OIG branding. Compile reports on analytics for websites and social media. Prepare unique content proposals for social media campaigns in a timely manner. Create static and motion graphic content on multiple platforms. Stay up to date with emerging news through digital media monitoring of external partners relevant to inspectors general and anti-fraud agencies to identify opportunities for engagement. Draft external communications at the direction of the Communication Officer to ensure consistency in voice, tone, and brand when communicating with a variety of stakeholders. Support internal and external events by capturing photos, videos, etc. and posting real-time content on social media. At the direction of Communication Officer, attend community events to capture digital content. Qualifications Key Abilities, Skills, and Experience: 0-3 years of relevant professional work experience. Research, writing, editing and verbal skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. Experience creating multimedia content, including video and graphics. Experience in filming and utilizing video editing software. Experience in social and online media management, reporting, and analytics. Strong attention to detail and overall organizational skills with the ability to keep meticulous and consistent documentation of projects. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, be self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible. Proven ability to work under pressure, balance multiple priorities, and establish and meet deadlines. Ability to interact and collaborate successfully with many different personality types and to effectively develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels within the agency. Communicates with colleagues and others, including supervisor, clearly and respectfully. Demonstrates active listening and works to support a positive team environment. Basic understanding of government. Preferred Abilities, Skills, and Experience include: Experience with programs like Canva, Adobe InDesign, Affinity, and Constant Contact. Experience using web content management systems. Knowledge and understanding of state and national accessibility laws and standards for digital resources including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), Title II of the ADA, and Plain Language. Samples of previous work product may include but are not limited to: Graphic design sample Marketing campaign Strategy and final product Analysis of campaign blog or website content Writing sample Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 Other Position Information: Full time/Exempt Hybrid Work Schedule: The Office of the Inspector General offers a hybrid work schedule. Under this policy, employees may request one of the following weekly hybrid schedules: 1) four days telework and one-day on-site; 2) three days telework and two days on-site; 3) two days telework and three days on-site; or 4) one day telework and four days on-site. The on-site location is at the OIG's Boston office and employees may work remotely the remainder of the time at a location approved by their supervisor.
