New Hope Community is hiring: Music Coordinator in Loch Sheldrake

Essential Functions:

1. Create a strong curriculum base in music and creative arts.
2. Facilitate use of adaptive equipment and techniques in creating music.
3. Offer music classes, educational materials, mentoring, and innovative projects for day and evening programs, and all other agency programs (Without Walls, LAC, Residential, etc).
4. Collaborate with community consultants and educational institutions to design new programs that explore new ideas in the area of music.
5. Promote Fine Arts programs through accurate scheduling, articles for agency publications, taking photographs, emails, etc.
6. Attend team meetings as scheduled by Day Services Coordinator LAC.
7. Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of the Music program pertaining to participation and progress in classes/clubs and outings.
8. Meet once weekly with the Day Services Coordinator LAC to discuss program needs, participation, supply needs, scheduling of staff and programs and activities.
9. Communicate to the Day Services Coordinator LAC any concerns pertaining to attendance and participation that are observed during programs. Keep an accurate log of attendance of all activities.
10. Maintain all music inventory for the Music Program.
11. Provide one on one supports geared toward individual talents when necessary.
12. Provide a fun, educational, engaging, supportive environment.

Additional Functions:

• Meet once weekly with the Day Services Coordinator LAC to discuss program needs, participation, supply needs, scheduling of programs and staff supports.
• Carry out any other responsibilities deemed necessary to the position by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and the Sr. Director of Program Operations.

Qualifications: Must have strong background in music and education. Previous experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities required, along with a valid driver's license. Associates Degree/ Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.

Reports to: Coordinator of Day Services LAC

Salary range for this position is $45,000.00 - $50,000.00.
