Position Overview
RTTB is seeking a dynamic and experienced vice president of communications and marketing to lead the organization's communications, marketing, and brand strategy. This senior leadership role will develop and execute innovative, multi-channel campaigns to elevate RTTB's brand, engage stakeholders, and expand its impact.
As a key member of the leadership team, the vice president will provide strategic counsel on public relations, government relations, and storytelling, and will oversee a talented communications team. The role involves managing marketing initiatives, collaborating on special projects, and aligning communications strategies with RTTB's mission and goals.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in nonprofit marketing, a proven track record in video production and storytelling, and an understanding of government relations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership and brand management Develop and implement a data-driven, integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with RTTB's organizational objectives. Advise the CEO and executive leadership team on brand positioning, public relations, and stakeholder engagement. Ensure consistent brand identity, messaging, and alignment across all internal and external communications. Monitor industry trends and emerging marketing tools to enhance RTTB's visibility and impact. Public relations, government relations, and external affairs
Serve as a spokesperson when appropriate and cultivate relationships with media and influencers to drive positive coverage. Oversee crisis communication planning and ensure effective responses to sensitive issues. Support government relations efforts, working with consultants and staff on policy-related messaging and engagement. Marketing, digital engagement, and storytelling
Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, social media, events, and traditional media. Utilize video production and storytelling to enhance audience engagement and increase awareness of RTTB's mission. Oversee the creation of marketing materials, visual assets, and donor-focused content. Analyze key metrics and optimize marketing strategies to improve campaign effectiveness. Team leadership and department oversight
Supervise, mentor, and develop the communications and marketing team. Oversee hiring, performance management, and professional development within the department. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven team culture. Manage the departmental budget, ensuring strategic resource allocation. Special projects and cross-functional collaboration
Work closely with leadership, consultants, and internal teams on special projects and advocacy efforts. Develop targeted marketing and communication strategies to support fundraising, donor engagement, and advocacy campaigns. Qualifications and Skills
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field (master's degree preferred). Eight to ten years of senior leadership experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, with a track record of measurable success. Nonprofit experience is strongly preferred, or demonstrated understanding of nonprofit communications. Skills and competencies
Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong digital marketing expertise, including SEO, social media strategy, and analytics. Proven experience in video production and storytelling to enhance engagement. Ability to build and maintain relationships with media, policymakers, and community stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and mentoring abilities in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing budgets, setting KPIs, and optimizing performance. Proficiency in marketing and design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and CRM platforms like Salesforce or HubSpot. Preferred Qualifications
