In this role, you will work closely with science and engineering teams to define the customer experience and to execute our content strategy. You will partner with marketing, programming, and finance teams to ensure that we're meeting business targets, and to provide feedback about content selection. You will construct a roadmap that helps Prime Video determine when, how, and to whom we deploy each type of recommendation, and how best to contextualize and frame content based on the customer journey and personalized taste across the entirety of the Prime Video app on every device we serve. You will work at a global scale, serving our hundreds of millions of global customers, and considering global trends and local preferences. You will focus on discovery, and will use customer context to determine how and when to associate titles.Key job responsibilities- Drive the strategy and customer experience for the content similarities team.- Define a roadmap that tests, iterates, and improves on our algorithms and internal recommendation systems.- Invent and define new systems that create step change improvements in how we execute and deploy content similarity services at scale.- Work with a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, and analysts to launch tech that improves our key metrics.- Set and shepherd ambitious goals that advance the program.About the teamPrime Video Personalization and Discovery (PVPD) selects, contextualizes, and recommends all the content that customers see within the app. We use technology, primary ML and AI, to improve and to help our customers discover new stories, or just re-engage with their favorites. Our north star is driving customer happiness via long-term engagement and sustained content discovery.Basic qualifications- 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience- Bachelor's degree- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition- Experience managing technical products or online services- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning- 2+ years developing machine learning technology products, especially in the service of personalized recommendationsPreferred qualification - MBA- Master's degreeAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
