Guaranteed Hours:
Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Polysomnographic Technician; experience in pediatric sleep preferred
License: Must hold a registry in good standing with one of the credentialing organizations listed below
Certifications: - The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) - The American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST) - The National Board of Respiratory Care (SDS)
Must-Have: - Ability to work independently and make quick judgments with high skill, knowledge, understanding, and accuracy - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Computer proficiency - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Willingness to work with little or no notice
Job Description: - Perform sleep disorder studies accurately and safely as ordered by physicians - Operate all equipment for sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment, including calibration and adjustments - Determine testing parameters and procedures with the aid of a physician - Score sleep/wake stages and complete records of all procedures performed - Oversee unusual and difficult procedures and provide oversight to the Polysomnographic (Sleep) Technician - Assess patient testing modalities and treatment protocols in consultation with referring physicians - Evaluate sleep study-related equipment and maintain inventory - Conduct routine and complex equipment care, maintenance, and repairs - Generate accurate reports by scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events - Demonstrate competence in performing responsibilities that address the age-specific and developmental needs of patients - Adapt assessment, treatment, and service methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient - Adhere to the core values of the organization - Perform additional duties as assigned
