Polysomnographic Technologist Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Polysomnography Program or equivalent training and experience At least one year of experience preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Certification options:

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) credentialed by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM)

Polysomnographic Technologist Job Description:

The

Sleep Diagnostics Center

is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care and equipped with the latest technology, including Cadwell, ResMed, and Nonin software, as well as a variety of PAP masks. The Cadwell system interfaces with the electronic medical record (Epic). Conduct polysomnography studies, including EEG, EOG, EMG, and other physiological monitoring to assess and diagnose sleep disorders. Prepare patients for sleep studies by explaining procedures, attaching electrodes and sensors, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Monitor and record real-time patient data, including brain activity, heart rate, respiratory patterns, and other physiological signals during sleep studies. Analyze and interpret sleep study data to identify abnormalities and diagnose conditions like sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome. Maintain polysomnography equipment by performing routine checks, troubleshooting technical issues, and calibrating devices for accurate functionality.
