Job Summary
The HR Communications Manager provides in-house communication strategy and execution for the Human Resources (HR) team. This role develops and executes an employee-focused, College-wide communications strategy for the HR department and creates and delivers compelling content that engages employees and strengthens the presence of the HR department. The HR Communications Manager collaborates with HR leaders, departments, and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful communication that supports our employee's strategic communication and HR goals.

to join our team and help us strengthen employee engagement, knowledge, and across the college.
In this role, you will:
Develop and deliver strategic, story-driven content that informs, inspires, and connects our diverse employee community. Collaborate with HR and college leadership to craft internal communication campaigns that align with organizational goals and values. Create innovative messaging for a variety of channels, including newsletters, email campaigns, intranet, social media, and employee events. Ensure all communications reflect consistency and our commitment to support employee success and enhance the employee experience. Communication Strategy
Works closely with HR leadership and key stakeholders to ensure all employee-focused communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with the goals and values of the HR department and the College. Develops and executes the internal communications strategy for the organization, including key messaging, communication channels, and tactics. Facilitates the creation of internal communications content, including email updates, newsletters, videos, presentations, and other content as needed. Monitors and measures the effectiveness of internal communications, making recommendations for improvement based on feedback and data analysis. Develops and maintains a content calendar for the HR department to ensure that internal communications are timely and relevant. Identifies opportunities to promote employee engagement and sense of belonging and community. Relationship Management
Collaborates with HR leadership, cross-functional teams, and partners to anticipate and respond to employee-focused communication requests. Participates in the brainstorming process, communicates effectively with target audiences, collaborates with graphic designers to manage layout and visual identity, and coordinates with web team to optimize conversions and integration with the web and digital platforms. Serves as the dedicated writer and HR communications liaison for various departments across the College. Meets with cross-functional partners to gather information and assess job requests, serving as the marketing and writing expert who makes recommendations. Provides support on effective communication techniques and messaging. Marketing & Communications Operations
Creates and edits original content that is well-researched, on brand, and on time for multiple marketing platforms. Assists in other aspects of the creative or research processes to create cohesive, accurate content for websites, social media, email, marketing materials, and other platforms. Constructively gives and receives creative feedback on concepts, art, design, copy, brainstorming and idea generation for marketing campaigns, deliverables, and opportunities. Reviews former campaigns and communications to ascertain areas of strength and weakness to inform subsequent outputs. Culture of Respect
Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, journalism, or related field. Five (5) years of professional-level experience in human resources with previous experience in internal communications. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
currently accepted human resources principles, practices and processes; current federal and state laws, statutes, regulations, policies and directives pertaining to human resources; organizational behavior and dynamics; customer service delivery and procedures. Skilled in:
effectively managing multiple marketing projects, creative and persuasive writing, problem- solving, excellent verbal and written and visual communication, influencing and negotiation; planning and organization; department specific systems and software; customer service. Ability to:
proofread; copywrite and copyedit; develop and maintain effective working relationships with College associates and general public; maintain confidential and sensitive information; manage multiple assignments at once; provide administrative input and oversight; demonstrate flexibility; serve as an ambassador for college and department of HR, positively influence human resource decision-makers; work effectively with all levels of management and employees; perform multiple tasks in a complex operating environment; work independently demonstrating initiative; coordinate multiple activities and tasks; exhibit flexibility in work schedule and job tasks; collaborate, develop and maintain effective working relationships.
