SALARY BAND: Based on credentials & work experience. $140,000 – 165,000 per year

Position Overview:
The Vice-President of Marketing and Communications (VP) is responsible for the organization's marketing, branding, media and public relations, campaign promotion, market research, issues management, crisis communication, and marketing-related customer relationship and engagement activities. The VP will work to enhance the organization's brand reputation and community support.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

The VP of Marketing and Communications plays a key strategic role in the organization's programming and fundraising. This position is responsible for communicating the organization's mission, vision and community work to various stakeholders. Specifically, the VP will be expected to:

  1. Develop strategic marketing plans to support the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
  2. Create and execute innovative marketing and public relations strategies.
  3. Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications plan to advance United Way NCA's brand identity.
  4. Partner with the Leadership Team to develop an internal communications strategy.
  5. Oversee all aspects of marketing and communications.
  6. Lead and oversee the organization's website development and online initiatives.
  7. Oversee public relations, including media relations and community relations.
  8. Plan and execute media campaigns and advertising buys.
  9. Manage United Way's brand across all internal departments.
  10. Prepare monthly reports on the Department's goals and performance.

Team Leadership
The VP actively manages, recruits, and develops staff as well as vendors to support the Marketing and Communications Department. The VP will be expected to:

  1. Recruit and manage a marketing and communication team.
  2. Build organizational capability by identifying skills needed in the Department.
  3. Facilitate effective cross-functional teamwork.
  4. Source and manage external resources when required.

Department Operations and Results Leadership
The VP will be responsible for all marketing and communications work generated by the Division. Specifically, the VP will be expected to:

  1. Manage the effective operations of the marketing and communications function.
  2. Supervise Department staff, including writing annual performance evaluations.
  3. Direct market research activities.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field. Advance degree preferred. Minimum of ten years of experience in a senior management role in marketing and communications.

Strong communication skills, excellent written and verbal communication, proven success in digital marketing, and experience leading a team are essential.
