Summary:
The Music Director embodies rock and roll in a positive way and is responsible for creating the most valuable student experience possible. This role creates a safe and inspiring environment for students to achieve their musical and creative potential and ensures that each School of Rock student has an exceptional musical journey.
Roles and Responsibilities: • Responsible for music and education-related elements within the School • Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows • Roll out the music curriculum and oversee all product execution • Oversee all aspects of shows, ensuring that show productions are well executed • Market the school by keeping excellent relations with parents and students and engaging in describing the programs to prospective students • Support lessons and rehearsals as necessary to boost school profitability and operational efficiencies • Work with the General Manager to open school punctually according to hours of business and staying later when necessary during show season and summer camp • Maintain all music equipment • Communicate and interact regularly with parents on student progress and address any questions and issues about the music program • Partner with the GM to recruit and manage Music Instructors and Show Directors • Ensure the Music Instructors and Show Directors are trained in SoR methodology • Maintain a presence in the local music community to promote the school
Skill Requirements: • Successful gigging musician with formal music school training and/or 3+ years experience teaching music • Experience as a Show Director with School of Rock preferred • Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design • Strong organizational skills • Strong customer relations skills • Resourceful and good problem-solver • Works well under pressure • Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor • Good judgment a must
Our School is open Monday- Thursday from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
