About the Role
As a leading UX Research and Design agency in the education technology space, Openfield helps create exceptional learning experiences. In this role, you'll work alongside our Director of UX Research to conduct studies that shape product strategy and drive confident decision-making. Your research will span multiple EdTech products, giving you the opportunity to apply diverse methodologies while advocating for user needs throughout the design process.
This position is ideal for researchers who have established their foundational skills and are ready to own research projects independently. You'll have the autonomy to drive studies while collaborating with our experienced team to grow your expertise and impact.
Requirements
2-4 years of UX research experience in product development Bachelor's degree in Design, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, HCI, or a related field Experience with both generative and evaluative research studies Strong portfolio showcasing how your research has influenced product decisions Proficiency in UX research tools (e.g., UserZoom, UserTesting.com, Qualtrics) Must be located within commuting distance of Cincinnati, Ohio Core Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end UX research projects from planning to execution Conduct both generative (e.g., interviews, workshops, journey mapping) and evaluative (e.g., usability testing, surveys, concept validation) research Translate research insights into actionable recommendations that directly inform product decisions Work closely with UX designers, representing the voice of the user in design critiques Craft compelling research narratives that tie user insights to product strategy and present findings to stakeholders Define and track metrics to measure design success in live products Manage multiple client projects, ensuring consistent quality and meeting deadlines What Makes You Stand Out

Work Location
This role requires candidates to be based in the Greater Cincinnati area. Openfield supports a flexible hybrid work model. Your in-office schedule will be determined in collaboration with the Directors, based on project needs, client engagement, testing schedules, and other key factors. You will have the flexibility to work remotely, with in-office time scheduled as needed for meetings, workshops, and other team events.
