Client seeks a senior developer with user interface/user experience (UI/UX) skills to develop UX architecture, including sitemaps, journey maps, wireflows, and taxonomy designs. The emphasis of this role will be on human-centered design with a deep understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility, and usability.

At a high level, the resource will work closely with Client staff/team to develop and build a new application, provide maintenance and support, and perform enhancements as necessary.

Sample Tasks

  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints, ensuring user-first designs are created.
  2. Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and improve overall user experience.
  3. Develop UX architecture including sitemaps, journey maps, wireflows, and taxonomy designs to structure and organize the user experience.
  4. Design low- and high-fidelity prototypes to validate design concepts and make iterative improvements based on user feedback.
  5. Create reusable component libraries and design systems to ensure consistency and scalability across multiple platforms and applications.
  6. Develop web components that align with modern HTML/CSS standards, ensuring compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines for an inclusive user experience.
  7. Collaborate with developers to implement pixel-perfect designs, ensuring technical feasibility and seamless integration of design with development.
  8. Provide knowledge transfer to Client staff.

Requirements

Required Qualifications and Skills

  1. Professional experience in UI/UX design, with at least 3 years focused on design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Zeplin, Axure, Adobe XD, or similar.
  2. Professional experience directly creating human-centered designs with a deep understanding of UX/UI principles, accessibility, and usability, along with expertise in building customer journey maps and solving design challenges using UX patterns.
  3. Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and business stakeholders.
  4. Excellent communication skills to present design ideas and rationales to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  5. Experience in creating interactive, low- and high-fidelity prototypes to test ideas and concepts effectively.
  6. Experience with A/B testing, behavioral analytics, and using insights to inform design decisions.
  7. Experience in building reusable component libraries and design systems to ensure long-term scalability and consistency across projects.
  8. Strong user-first mindset with the ability to advocate for end-user needs in every design decision.
  9. Critical thinking and creativity to overcome design and technical challenges.
