- Engineering Degree (BSEE Electrical Engineering or BSME BS Mechanical Engineering)
- Great communication skills (will be working across multidisciplinary teams at POWER, with opportunities for project lead)
- EIT (Engineer in Training)

Insight Global is seeking a mid-to-senior Physical Substation Design Engineer for an engineering client located in Fort Mill, SC (to sit fully remote). The Physical Design Engineer will act as a vital team member to the Substation Department for the purpose of delivering and safeguarding system design for power equipment. This individual will contribute to project development (project scheduling, proposal development) and be hands-on with various substation equipment specifications. Ideal candidates will be electrical or mechanical engineers with expertise in substation physical design.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and perform detailed design work for medium to extra high voltage utility substations.
- Develop detailed designs for one-line diagrams, general arrangements, elevations, AC service calculations, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, and ground grid layouts and details.
- Selection of substation equipment.
- Contribute to substation equipment specifications, proposal development, and project scheduling.
- Oversee and guide the comprehensive design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substations, encompassing tasks such as station physical layouts, one-line diagrams, schematics, ground grid design, and structural plans/details.
