Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Libraries or designee, responsible for daily operations of library services
Supervisory Role
Associate Director of Libraries or designee.
Duties & Responsibilities
• This is library generalist role requiring cross functional skills in Access, Discovery and Technical Services including collection maintenance, faculty inquiries, document delivery, material retrieval, circulation desk, shelf reads among other projects as needed.
• Often serves as the first point of contact in a library that prides itself on exemplary service.
• Assists in maintaining Reserve print collection and communication to Electronic Resources librarian related issues as needed with an eye for best-in-class service
• Responds to access, and discovery issues promptly via LibAnswers ticketing system, e-mail, and direct communication, as well as inquiries in real time during in-Person hours on the ECC Student app.
• Assists Electronic Resources librarian in organizing and maintenance of the Library of Congress print collection; copy cataloging, creating, maintaining reports on the transition to electronic collection includes processing of titles, check-in library's online system.
• Assists in routine communication with students, faculty and staff regarding library electronic resources.
• Participates in unit and departmental projects and contributes to the smooth function of Library services access across subscriptions.
• Other projects as needed.

1. Students from all majors welcome with a strong interest in Information Science or Education or Business or Future of Learning or Knowledge Management
2. Exceptional communication skills with an interest in information science trends including algorithmic bias, digital literacy initiatives from the NJ Legislature and the US Board of Education
3. Bilingual in Spanish helpful.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
• High School Diploma
• 1 year Experience in the processing of technical work in a library.
• 1 year Experience with Library management systems including OCLC, MARC and understanding of related catalog and classification of materials.
• 1 year strong technical skills and tools commonly used in library work, including Excel, Office 365 Workspace including Teams and thorough understanding of PDF, JPEG and related image file conventions for document delivery.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision on detailed and complex tasks.
• Able to lift, squat, push book truck and related library print materials up to 20lbs
As necessary.
• Experience with underserved or marginalized communities and communities of color and commitment to inclusion and equitable access to information resources.
