Trillium Professional is now seeking a CAD Designer / CATIA V5 in Camarillo, CA!

Competent CAD designer creating tools with CATIA V5 to speed up the production and assembly of intricate aerospace parts. There may be occasions when reverse engineering of assemblies and components is necessary. Peer review, verification, mylar/flat pattern creation, quality assistance, and other assignments as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
•Legacy aircraft drawing interpretation.
•CAD modeling (CATIA V5) legacy aircraft components, assemblies and tooling.
•Tooling design, modification and fabrication oversight.
•Drawing creation of components, assemblies and tooling.
•Design tooling and fixturing with minimal oversight.
•Prioritize requirements and achieve delivery dates.
•Create designs efficiently with minimal rework/redesign.
•Work with various internal departments and outside suppliers to resolve manufacturing/engineering issues.
•Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience
•High School Degree or General Education Degree; with 5-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Associate degree (A.A.) in Business Administration or a related field required.
•Minimum of 5,000 CATIA V5 hours within the past 3 years, with wire frame surfaces a requirement.
•Experience with engineering drawings required.

Required Skills:
•Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
•Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
•Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
•Other Abilities: Must have knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, assembly and required tooling. Must have knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing practices related to military fixed wing and rotary wing platforms. Must have knowledge to apply general use of databases/spreadsheets. Must have comprehensive understanding of CATIA V5 to create components and tooling in a 3D environment. Familiarity with ANSI/ASME drawing standards and demonstrated ability to ensure drawings meet these standards. Ability to create drawings to aid the shop floor with parts and tooling. A strong understanding of materials used in Aerospace applications, associated processing specification and associated finishing specifications.
