From media relations to internal message building, they tell DISH’s unique story of innovation.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen:Serve as a key counselor to our Retail Wireless leadership team, Director of Corporate Communications, and other key business executivesHelp align the Retail Wireless teams, partners and others on key Retail Wireless strategies and narrative developmentFocus on building and promoting the Boost Mobile brand with consumer audiencesDevelop and oversee development of media strategy plans, including executive overviews, goals/objectives, defined KPIs, pitch angles/message positioning, and other relevant materials/plansPartner with relevant business units and support teams (marketing, sales, product, government affairs, etc.) to develop compelling strategies for storytelling that amplify Retail Wireless’ leadership position and raise awareness of its retail offeringsEstablish and implement the overall strategic plans for the team that is consistent with organizational values and goalsOversee monitoring and reporting of traditional media outlets for coverage of Retail Wireless news and competitor developments. Provide strategic communications counsel and constructive feedback to executives; develop messaging and prepare executives for speaking engagements; staff interviews and assist in presentation developmentServe as communications subject matter expert and follow public relations best practices for integrated campaigns, measurement, trends, and media opportunitiesAnticipate and proactively offer solutions to senior leadership for issues and opportunities that ariseRepresent EchoStar and its Retail Wireless brands as part of any incident response to advise and coordinate appropriate external communicationDevelop and follow standard operating procedures and communications to enhance the department's effectivenessHappily assume other duties as assignedManage budget and vendor relationshipsProject Management:Create PR materials including press releases, blog posts, media pitches, fact sheets, FAQs, executive bios, and measurement reportsSecure consumer, local, business and trade earned media placements. Actively pitch, conduct proactive follow-up, and track and report resultsManage review and approval processes for key stakeholder and senior management input and approvalTeam Leadership:Develop work plans for all direct reports and mentor team members across the Corporate Communications teamParticipate in the review process by providing constructive input on experiences with supervisors and colleagues as relevant for the teamOwn personal growth and development by continually upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities to increase performance and long-term development goalsCoach members of the team on how to communicate with and present to senior leaders and outside organizationsDevelop, maintain, and improve the communications platforms (written, visual, verbal, or electronic) the company relies upon to communicate with all stakeholdersModel a collaborative, results-focused, and team-oriented approachSkills, Experience and RequirementsCandidates should have progressive levels of public relations experience in B2C communication strategies. The ideal candidate is an efficient manager skilled in brand development and program execution with a proven ability to leverage influential media contacts, lead cross-functional teams, and generate results.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, communications, marketing, or similar applicable field8+ years of professional public relations experience working in consumer brand development at companies in rapid growth modeSkills and Qualifications:Experience managing and coaching other public relations professionalsMastery of AP style and the ability to draft all media materials based on these guidelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong media relations skills; experience writing news releases, blog posts, social media content, pitches, speeches, and other materials.Demonstrated ability to use creative thinking to develop public relations opportunities, media stories, and social media contentWell-developed critical thinking and decision-making skills; the ability to formulate a clear viewpoint on complicated issues, communicate recommendations, and present new ideas to managementStrict attention to detail and the ability to work against tight deadlines; solid organizational and project management skills; the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage projects autonomouslyStrong experience in customer media and brand development preferredVisa sponsorship not available for this roleSalary RangesCompensation: $110,110.00/Year - $157,300.00/Year BenefitsWe offer versatile health perks, including flexible spending accounts, HSA, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, career opportunities, and a flexible time away plan; all benefits can be viewed here: DISH Benefits.The base pay range shown is a guideline.
