ABOUT THE POSITION

The SOREL Digital Graphic Designer II, Web is an important member of the SOREL Global Brand Marketing Creative team. They will be responsible for designing and producing comprehensive digital design executions to foster brand awareness, increase engagement, support sales growth objectives, and increase consumer lifetime value on sorel.com.

The purpose of the Digital Graphic Designer II, Web is to create digital assets and solutions based off seasonal brand creative directions. This includes but is not limited to multimedia and graphic projects relating to: SOREL website, email, paid media, content development, and organic social. This role will translate creative concepts into visual designs working cross-functionally with teams to take ideas from concept to execution. The Digital Graphic Designer will primarily interpret the seasonal creative direction into an effective and engaging end user-experience. Additionally, you will develop bespoke digital initiatives and deliver creative solutions tailored to specific needs. You will be working closely with the internal design team, site/email team, development, Europe/Canada partners, and our internal operations team.

This role will maintain and enhance our existing creative marketing strategy with a focus on increased reach across digital channels.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Work within seasonal brand guidelines to create layouts and design executions that reinforce SOREL’s brand voice through its visual/digital .com touchpoints.
  • Produce the design and production for websites, product graphics, banners, static and rich banner ads, email campaigns, and email templates.
  • Work across several different mediums from: graphic design, web design, video, animation, etc.
  • Apply exceptional production design skills across all digital channels (site, email, social, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Site Managers and Brand Marketing Team in meeting high level site objectives.
  • Navigate processes and quick turn deadlines across multiple platforms such as Jira, Figma, and AEM.
  • Partner with internal Sr. Interactive Designer in creating engaging responsive site layouts such as: homepages, landing pages, PDP pages, and grid banners.
  • Work directly with Email Marketing Manager to concept and design engaging emails sent out weekly.
  • Translate wireframes into simple, easy-to-use responsive user interfaces across multiple platforms.
  • Research and propose additional site design improvements in tandem with Digital Art Director around: UX design improvements, responsiveness, navigation, interactivity, and overall brand aesthetic.
  • Communicate and present design concepts for approval to internal and external departments.
  • Work with external developers to ensure aesthetics also align with usability, accessibility, and web standards.
  • Work with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web environment and ensure consistency and integrity of the creative vision.
  • Translate product positioning, existing research, and online marketing strategies into effective designs across all creative executions.
  • Broaden and enhance knowledge by keeping up to date with digital innovations and competitors.
  • Help lead and produce large scale digital campaigns such as Cyber, Holiday, Seasonal Sale, etc.

YOU ARE

  • A digital and design specialist with a strong production design background.
  • Positive with an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Experienced in an interactive design role.
  • Passionate about fashion and the footwear/apparel industry.

YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Arts, Graphic Design, or related field.
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of progressive design marketing experience either in-house or agency.
  • Multidisciplinary visual design skill set being able to jump from multiple projects to another.
  • Strong production design skillset with the ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Footwear and/or apparel and retail industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong portfolio of design work, showing solutions to business problems through effective design.
  • Must have excellent Macintosh computer skills including expert level knowledge in Figma, Jira, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in web marketing/web design with a strong knowledge of HTML, FTP, web design, and development principles.
  • Deep knowledge of web design processes.
  • Understanding of web design issues, including browser usability and cross-platform compatibility.
  • Responsive design and e-commerce experience within AEM and other platforms are a plus.
  • Experience designing e-commerce websites or advertising.
  • Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with a digital marketing team.
  • Intimately involved in the execution of a digital brand campaign.
  • The position requires strong design and problem-solving skills, as well as an eye for detail.
  • A solid foundation in typography, layout, and design.
  • A strong knowledge in color, scale, contrast, balance, and hierarchy is a must.
  • Experience with transitions, animation, motion design, and dynamic interaction.
  • Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills, along with presentation and negotiation skills.
  • A penchant for details and organization, including the ability to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to effectively take direction and work both collaboratively and autonomously.
  • Interact with co-workers in a professional manner that supports the department and promotes a positive work environment.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, management, vendors, customers, and clients, adapting to be effective with a multitude of personalities and circumstances.
