Base pay range

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

As we enter our 27th year in business, our print company is seeking an experienced graphic designer/print production designer to join our team! This position offers the opportunity to create a variety of print design products for our clients. A large portion of the job consists of production art preparation, processing day-to-day print orders, and quoting print jobs. As a full-service mailing house, we will also teach you how to process and design bulk mailings.

EXPERIENCE

• 1-2 years experience in a print production environment and a professional degree in graphic design, digital printing, pre-press/print production, or a related field is preferred. (Please note we will NOT consider freelancing as part of your experience.)
• Mail-house, bulk mailing, or USPS Mail Design Professional experience is a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Superb organizational and time management abilities
• Outstanding basic math skills for job quoting and calculating paper/page counts and measurements
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Willingness to learn and follow instruction
• Ability to follow procedures and keep thorough written records
• Ability to handle high stress & tight deadlines
• Ability to complete work independently in a quick-turn environment
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple jobs concurrently
• Prompt, responsible, and reliable

DUTIES

• Working directly with clients on graphic design of postcards, flyers, booklets, business cards, posters, banners, and other printed materials
• Checking customer-provided files for print-readiness and making edits as needed (checking file format, image resolution, output print size, color space, converting spot colors, adding bleed and crop marks, and imposing multiples for print)
• Frequent email correspondence with clients to ascertain print & design needs, send quotes and proofs, follow up on quotes, and keep jobs moving towards production deadlines
• Processing day-to-day print orders and reorders
• Frequent manual quoting of print jobs based on our price book
• Answering phones and Customer Service/Front Counter assistance
• Determining appropriate paper types/job specs to meet client requests
• Learning bulk mailing design requirements and how to process bulk mailings of postcards, newsletters, and the like
• Creation of internal marketing materials and social media/online ads as part of a team
