Position Overview

Student will assist faculty/staff in setting up/tearing down for events and video shoots and run live sound equipment. Duties may include setting up, picking up, and checking-in classroom items for classes. May be requested to set up audio/visual equipment, PowerPoint presentations, and/or computers for staff, faculty, or students.

Hours per Week

  • Up to 25 hours per week maximum during Fall & Spring semester
  • Up to 35 hours per week maximum during Summer semester
  • Please note, actual hours will vary week to week depending on event schedule and schedule can/will be very sporadic at times

Department Specific Job Functions

  • Serve as Live Sound Tech and operate venue PA system during events and be present during load-in/load-out
  • Be responsible for clearing/resetting stage to ensure venue is ready for events
  • Work with Venue Coordinator and artists to create the best experience for the artists and audience during events
  • Be present at video shoots during load-in/load-out and assist with audio and other needs that arise

Enrollment Requirements

Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half time enrollment for Fall/Spring is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students shall be enrolled full time to be eligible to work as a student worker.

Summer Semester: Student employees working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours to be eligible to work during the summer. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in Fall classes in order to work on campus.

Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number of hours required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor and submit it to Human Resources.

  • Must have live sound experience and knowledge
