Our Company: BCI Brands designs, sources, and markets nationally and internationally an extensive range of women's career, casual sportswear, and dresses. Their products are sold through all primary retail distribution levels principally under various trademarks and under private label brand names, such as Ted Baker, Vince Camuto, CeCe, 1.state and Parker.

Responsibilities

  1. Support Senior Technical Designers
  2. Prepare for fittings by measuring samples, cross-examining against style Tech Pack and previous fit samples to ensure corrections have been made.
  3. Attend fittings to review overall fit, balance, and details of garments through production.
  4. Knowledge of pattern making, draping, measuring, garment construction, grading, and factory production.
  5. Develop clear and comprehensive tech packages for factories.
  6. Correspond with factories/vendors to ensure all reorder styles meet spec requirements, including communicating all fit comments.
  7. Maintain professional and clear daily communication with cross-functional teams and factories regarding construction details, fit, and pattern issues.
  8. Update tech packs with current information for BOM, construction templates, and measurements where applicable.
  9. Issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval.
  10. Work with Design to ensure fit, balance, and aesthetics throughout the pre-production process, within calendar deadlines.
  11. Self-manage workload based on calendar due dates and production deadlines, prioritizing tasks with a sense of urgency.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.
  2. 4-6 years’ experience in the apparel industry, including construction experience with full knowledge of production processes and timelines for Wovens + Cut and Sew Knits product categories.
  3. Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, sewing techniques, trim, and technical knowledge of fabric and construction.
  4. Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, and Word.
  5. Extreme attention to detail.
  6. Ability to analyze workload and plan accordingly with exceptional follow-up skills.
  7. Multitasking - Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload and tasks.
  8. Strong work ethic, able to self-motivate, work with cross-functional teams when necessary, and make calls that display efficiency for the teams and future endeavors.

This is a temporary role expected to last at least 3-4 weeks, offering a rate of $40-$50 per hour dependent upon experience level.
