Scpress is hiring: News Intern - USC-sponsored/The State in Columbia

The State newspaper, through a partnership with the University of South Carolina, seeks a proven University of South Carolina student journalist to join our team in South Carolina's capital city.

As a news intern, you can expect to:

1. Be treated like a staff member, whether you are working as a reporter, visual storyteller, or audience/social media specialist.
2. You will be assigned to a senior-level mentor during the internship and will receive coaching, training, and mentoring.
3. Work with seasoned staffers and work directly with local leaders.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience reporting and/or producing for a student or professional news publication. This internship program involves on-site work, so interns should be prepared to live near the location of their respective newsrooms.

To be eligible for this internship spot, applicants must be current students of the University of South Carolina.
