ABOUT THE ROLE

UA Brands is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Photographer to join our dynamic creative team. As a visual storyteller, you will play a key role in capturing the essence of our brand and products through compelling imagery.

You will be responsible for various photographic assignments, including studio, content across all channels and location shoots, product photography, lifestyle imagery, and e-commerce photography. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic vision, technical expertise, and a collaborative spirit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Photography:

  • Execute high-quality apparel photography across various categories, including product and lifestyle, for our websites and marketing while maintaining quality, aesthetics, and productivity, ensuring alignment with brand identity and marketing goals.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, art directors, stylists, and other team members to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and project objectives.
  • Masterfully utilize lighting, composition, and technical skills to produce visually stunning imagery.
  • Maintain a consistent style and aesthetic while exploring new creative approaches.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Production:

  • Assist with pre-production planning, including location scouting, casting models, and coordinating with vendors.
  • Manage on-set operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
  • Oversee post-production tasks, including image selection, editing, and retouching.
  • Maintain and organize photography equipment and studio space.
  • Work closely with other photographers, videographers, and creative team members to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior photographers or assistants, fostering their growth and development.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in photography or a related field.
  • 7+ years of professional photography experience, demonstrating a diverse portfolio of work.
  • 7+ years of catalog and e-commerce photography related experience.
  • Expert proficiency in digital photography, lighting techniques, and image editing software (Capture One, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for photography and a commitment to excellence.
  • Exceptional eye for composition, color, lighting, and detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Experience with retouching, color correction, and image manipulation.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
  • Experience in studio and on-location photography and content creation.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems.

Technical Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency with professional-grade DSLR and mirrorless camera systems (e.g., Canon, Nikon, Sony).
  • In-depth knowledge of lenses (wide-angle, telephoto, macro), and the ability to choose the right lens for different types of photography (e.g., portraits, products, architecture).
  • Mastery in using studio lighting setups (softboxes, beauty dishes, umbrellas, reflectors) and natural light.
  • Proficient in setting up off-camera flash systems, light meters, and continuous lighting for indoor and outdoor shoots.
  • Ability to balance ambient and artificial lighting, as well as create lighting diagrams for shoot planning.

Post-Production Software:

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically:
  • Adobe Photoshop (image manipulation, advanced retouching, compositing).
  • Adobe Lightroom (photo organization, batch processing, color grading).
  • Knowledge of Capture One for tethered shooting and high-end RAW processing.
  • Familiarity with advanced retouching techniques, such as frequency separation, dodging and burning, and non-destructive editing.
  • Proficiency in handling RAW, TIFF, JPEG, and PSD file formats.
  • Strong understanding of color calibration, white balance adjustments, and ICC profiles for accurate color reproduction.
  • Ability to prepare images for web (optimized, compressed formats) and print (CMYK conversion, high-resolution outputs).

Studio and On-location Setup:

  • Experience with studio management software and maintaining studio equipment (cameras, lights, backgrounds, and rigs).
  • Ability to execute on-location shoots, including managing portable lighting kits and ensuring power backup for extended sessions.

Backup & Storage Solutions:

  • Knowledge of cloud storage systems and best practices for file management, backup, and archiving.
  • Experience working with NAS systems for large-scale image storage.

Preferred Skills:

  • Videography skills and experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with 360-degree photography and social content.
  • Experience working in e-commerce, fashion, or advertising industries.
