Incumbents in this position perform photography duties for the Police Division. Duties include taking/processing photographs of department employees, victims, suspects, and evidence, logging photographic evidence and developing and printing photographs from digital media.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Perform photography duties for the Police Division.
  2. Take and process photographs of department employees, victims, suspects, and evidence.
  3. Log photographic evidence and develop and print photographs from digital media.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Data Utilization: Ability to perform basic level of data analysis including reviewing, classifying, categorizing, prioritizing and/or referencing data, statutes and/or guidelines.
  2. Human Interaction: Ability to provide guidance, assistance and/or interpretation to coworkers regarding policies, procedures, and standards.
  3. Equipment, Machinery, Tools and Materials Use: Ability to operate, calibrate, tune, and synchronize equipment such as cameras and photographic processors.
  4. Verbal Aptitude: Ability to utilize reference, descriptive, and advisory data and information.
  5. Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and calculations.
  6. Functional Reasoning: Ability to apply principles of rational systems and interpret instructions.
  7. Situational Reasoning: Ability to exercise judgment and creativity in evaluating information.
  8. Environmental Factors: Good working conditions with some exposure to elements; required to wear a respirator while mixing chemicals for photographic processing.
  9. Physical Requirements: Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, including lifting up to 45 pounds.
  10. Sensory Requirements: Ability to recognize and identify characteristics of colors, shapes, and sounds associated with job-related tasks.
