Principal Electrical Engineer, Radio Frequency (Finance)

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, Radio Frequency (RF) you will design, develop, test and document RF and microwave circuits for level measurement product solutions in conjunction with firmware and mechanical disciplines to produce unique and industry leading products. You will be a key team member on our engineering team, furthering our commitment to continuous improvement and new product development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing RF and microwave electronics as it applies to radar-based instruments per product requirements. This includes both the development of new products as well as enhancements/fixes for existing products.
• Analyzing product requirements, researching current technologies, and collaborating with other firmware/electrical/mechanical engineers to assess feasibility and develop system solutions which optimize performance and cost.
• Documenting schematic and layout designs per established procedures/standards and providing additional documentation, including test plans, and working with Test Engineering to improve auto test.
• Contributing to project planning, including estimating effort and cost, prioritizing/ordering tasks, and negotiating responsibilities.
• Providing support for other associates and/or customers including mentoring less experienced engineers.

Requirements include:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a 4-year college or university.
• 7-10 years of experience in an electronic circuit design/new product development environment, with specific experience in the following areas/disciplines:
• RF/microwave theory, design, and analysis experience.
• Radar design and analysis experience.
• Understanding of RF/microwave circuit matching and OSC principles.
• Skilled in the use of Orcad, PADS, Altium schematic capture, circuit simulation, and PCB layout applications.
• Experience in test development and documentation.
• Firsthand experience troubleshooting complex electronic circuit designs including the use of spectrum analyzer, high frequency oscilloscope, scalar/vector network analyzer.
• Knowledge of EMC requirements, including design and layout techniques to assure EMC performance of PCBs and products.
• Understanding of FCC, ETSI, and industrial of Canada standards for Tank radar.
• Self-motivated, able to work under little supervision, able to adapt to changing design requirements and easily transition between projects to meet priorities.
• Able to work in a team environment.
• Excellent computer skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Preferred experience in the following areas:

• Guided wave radar, pulse radar, FMCW radar, mmWave system and transceiver design.
• Probe/antenna design.
• Microwave Office, Pspice, Ansys EM, ADS.
• FCC/ETSI, industrial of Canada approval.
• FMEDA reliability/failure analysis.
• EMC testing.
• C/C++, MATLAB.

Employee Type: Salaried

Salary Minimum: $130,000

Salary Maximum: $160,000
