The Connecticut Examiner is hiring a general assignment reporter to join our fast-growing online newspaper as it adds staff in southeast Connecticut. The ideal candidate has at least five years of work experience in a news environment.

Duties will balance in-depth reporting at the local level in southeast Connecticut, with substantial opportunities for professional growth. No breaking news. Experience editing a plus.

You will be expected to complete on average 4 stories each week.

Maturity, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are essential.

It is expected that you will live in or near to your coverage area.
