ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary
The primary role of the Web Developer is to support and evolve the Ben & Jerry’s global IT landscape, primarily consumer-facing. You’ll work closely with other Ben & Jerry’s and agency developers to design, develop, and maintain technical solutions that support consumer-facing websites and integrations across a large global footprint. You’ll work with a cross-functional team of U.S. based Ben & Jerry’s staff to develop and execute progressive, innovative, and strategic winning campaigns that support progressive social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Partners with Marketing and other functional areas of the business to understand business objectives and recommend technical solutions.
- Collaborates with developers to evaluate, recommend, and implement technical solutions and third-party platforms and integrations.
- Translates design artifacts (wireframes, mockups, prototypes) into mobile-first web experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Develops and maintains Java-based global content-managed websites.
- Works in various platforms and with internal and external agencies to manage SEO, accessibility, and cookie compliance.
- Works with other technical teams (developers, hosting, security) to maintain the technical landscape (infrastructure and applications) and troubleshoot issues.
- Monitors and researches emerging technologies, external platforms and services, consumer behavior, and site analytics to inform innovation opportunities.
- Produces technical documentation of processes and solutions.
- Recommends process, resourcing, and technical changes for efficiency and scalability.
- Ensures consumer data is handled according to data privacy and security regulations.
- Ensures user interface design and development adheres to best practices for user experience, core web vitals, SEO, and accessibility compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent level of experience.
- 3-5 years experience developing responsive, mobile-first, multi-lingual web-based applications in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience with server-side scripting languages such as JSP, PHP.
- Experience interfacing with both technical and non-technical teams (Marketing).
- Experience with Content Management (CMS) systems.
- Experience working with a team in a continuous integration environment.
- Experience with SEO.
- Experience with core web vitals/site speed optimization.
- Experience with web accessibility standards/best practices.
- Experience with web analytics platforms, tag management platforms, and associated technologies.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $83,200 to $124,700. Unilever considers a wide range of factors in making compensation decisions, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, qualifications, education, and other business needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
