Downtown Music is currently transforming its artist distribution strategy by rebranding and re-platforming the current CD Baby User Experience and distribution flow and royalty processing and accounting. This initiative will leverage the existing Downtown Group services and build new infrastructure where necessary to create a new distribution experience for Artists.
We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Head of Product - Direct to Creator to spearhead this project, working closely with Downtown Artist Distribution's executive leadership. The successful candidate will lead the development and launch of a new artist distribution platform that will set the standard in the industry by redefining excellent user experience for artists, driving significant client acquisition and revenue growth.
This hybrid role is open to candidates based in Los Angeles, or New York City.
What you'll be doing:- Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that serves both artists and the market opportunity and develop solutions that address the unique challenges of emerging artists
- Lead product initiatives that drive artist acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Collaborate with leadership to align product strategy with overall business objectives
- End-to-end responsibility for launching the new distribution product.
- Collaborate with technology, marketing, and other project stakeholders to create and execute a comprehensive product plan, including significant milestones, resource requirements, timelines, stakeholder management, and market research.
- Manage any additional product team members required for the project.
- Alongside Marketing, co-responsibility for client acquisition growth, product upsells and ARPU growth
- Work closely with the marketing team to develop, implement, and adjust an ongoing holistic pricing strategy for Downtown Artist Distribution products.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the new distribution platform meets the needs of artists, labels, and distributors.
- Manage the development and implementation of new features and enhancements to the platform.
- Monitor the performance of the platform and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in artist distribution and identify opportunities for innovation.
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management, specializing in e-commerce strategy and execution
- Developed and implemented comprehensive product plans that drive sales growth and enhance the customer experience
- Oversee the full online product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals
- Lead a team of Product Managers focused on the online retail platform
- Monitor key performance metrics and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Drive the vision and execution of all product-related initiatives within the e-commerce business
- Proven track record of launching successful products
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for music and technology
- An appreciation of the music industry and the transformation underway in the artist services and distribution space

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $180,000 - $200,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
