Job Description

The Community Manager (CM) is responsible for the overall operation of the assigned community.  This position reports directly to the Regional Manager (RM).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·        Manage community asset.

·        Recruit, hire, train, mentor and develop staff.

·        Oversee leasing activities and ensure community is compliant with local and fair housing laws.

·        Manage collection of rent and meet company delinquency expectations.

·        Strive for maximum occupancy at all times and high renewal rates.

·        Prepare budgets and meet NOI expectations.

·        Provide excellent customer service, assist residents with concerns and complaints.

·        Oversee maintenance team and overall condition of community.

·        Walk units and conduct inspections.

·        Comply with fair housing laws and company policies.

·        Meet all reporting deadlines.

·        Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • College degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of multifamily residential property management experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Property Manager) a plus.
  • Yardi experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, pleasant demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Problem solving, project management and analytical skills required.
  • Reliable transportation.
