Our signature technologies - dry-powder formulations and inhalation devices - offer rapid and convenient delivery of medicines to the deep lung where they can exert an effect locally or enter the systemic circulation, depending on the target indication.

Position Summary:

MannKind Corporation currently has an open position for an Associate Director, Patient Marketing (Consumer) located in Danbury, CT. The Associate Director will lead the strategy development process and oversee the execution of promotional programs and tactics targeted to patient/consumer/caregiver audiences about the potential benefits of Afrezza. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketer to play a critical role in the Afrezza brand team. This position can be located in either our Danbury, Ct or Bedford, Ma (Boston) office.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Developing strategy, tactics and critical success factors relative to patient/consumer segments
  • Developing ideas and strategies to reach patient/consumers in innovative ways, including digital marketing, social media
  • Coordinating the work of multiple external vendors and internal departments including marketing, legal, regulatory, medical affairs, compliance and IS
  • Leading projects through the legal, regulatory, and medical review process
  • Leading program budgets and developing metrics to ensure the success of the promotional programs
  • Leading market research planning that supports patient/consumer promotional efforts
  • Observing all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines.
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • BS/BA Degree with 7+ years of experience and/or MBA/MS with 3+ years of directly-related patient/consumer marketing experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Previous experience in the diabetes marketplace preferred
  • Previous experience in pediatric/caregiver marketing preferred
  • Experience in digital marketing preferred
  • Record of growing responsibility within marketing (sales, sales training preferred)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to think strategically and solve problems
  • Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally to drive business results in a lean, fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and ability to drive influence across partners to set direction, align work efforts, and ensure flawless execution
  • Experience working closely with field sales organizations to implement marketing programs with measurable business impact
  • Outstanding project management skills and experience managing multiple vendors and agency partners
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities
  • Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory environment in pharmaceutical promotions, pharma industry guidelines, and other compliance-related issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Small company environment - able to successfully adapt to the demands of the business by being receptive to a rapidly changing environment
  • Traveling may be required (15% or more) for attendance of key patient events
  • This position can be located in either our Danbury, Ct or Bedford, Ma (Boston) office.



Pay Range: $144,000 - $216,000 per year
