Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation’s top contractors, is recruiting for an experienced Marketing Manager for our Southwest Region based out of Tempe.
This position will lead and manage marketing projects with responsibilities that include project pursuits, events and tradeshows, graphic design, advertising, public relations, writing, data organization, research, and overall branding and positioning. Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives and projects for AP. Accountable for specific initiatives or marketing areas.

Key Accountabilities of the role include:
- Manage the region’s marketing efforts, providing support in the area of marketing strategy.
- Partner with marketing director, regional leadership and business development to set and lead regional marketing priorities.
- Lead primary and secondary research efforts as directed.
- Create proposal packages and collateral materials.
- Write, design, edit, produce, and deliver winning proposals by collaborating with the Marketing team, region management, business development, and project managers. Identify key points for competitive positioning and ensure accurate and updated information is contained within project proposals.
- Participate in interview strategy/preparation of potential new business and provide research on topics relevant to markets and clients.
- Lead design efforts with minimal direction by coordinating efforts to identify opportunities, develop, proof, and submit original design.
- Manage the development of marketing and communications copy, customer awareness, direct mail, and education programs (Trade Shows) as directed which support and sell the organization’s capabilities and services.
- Lead conceptual planning and management of event planning as directed.
- Ensure all marketing communications are coordinated; support marketing plan objectives and ensure that they are an effective expenditure of resources.
- Oversee photography.
- Lead writing efforts as directed for public relations, awards, submittals, etc.
- Identify ideas for releases, articles, speaking engagements, awards, etc.
- Identify opportunities to share these ideas (media outlets, conferences to present at, media publications to write in, awards to submit for, postings to the website, and social media sites).
- Develop concept, interview internal experts, and write copy.
- Proof, finalize, and submit.
- Assist the regional leader with managing the marketing assistant/coordinator activities.
- Provide leadership/mentoring to marketing assistants and coordinators.
- Support the data development and management process including process documentation.
- Assist with efforts to develop information and data including resume and project data updates and reference letter requests.
- Support efforts to organize and manage information and data and ensure that data is saved in the appropriate places.
- Develop and document processes for developing internal marketing processes.
- Manage CRM system data, ensuring all information is up to date.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business/marketing, journalism/communication, or related field plus 4 – 6 years of proposal writing/coordination/research in the A/E/C industry.
- Broad functional experience in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research, and planning and promotions/advertising.
- Experience building strategic marketing programs/concepts, and selling the strategic programs at the Executive level.
- Experience creating and implementing brand awareness and communications programs and driving business using direct and channel-oriented selling models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign). Illustrator experience a plus.
- Strong writing, proofreading, editing, and process documentation skills.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- Developed skills in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Experience in a complex business as an active participant in driving growth and change; demonstrated effectiveness in driving operations and executing plans.
- Experience in driving accountability for financial and operational effectiveness, integrating and aligning efforts within team, monitoring results and tackling problems directly.
- Experience cultivating an active network of relationships, driving collaboration and alignment, relating well to colleagues and connecting with employees at all levels.
- Ability to drive to the core of complex issues and provide insightful and constructive feedback.
