Description

PE Systems, Inc. has a great opportunity for a Senior Clothing Fabricator/Quality Assurance Support supporting the Agile Combat Support Program at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The candidate will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering to the planning, design, and implementation of secure and resilient communications and information systems.

General Function:

  1. Prototype & Sample Development: Create, refine, and execute prototypes, fit, and production samples in alignment with design specifications and quality standards. Ensure the development process is smooth and timely.
  2. Quality Assurance: Inspect finished garments, record measurements, defects, and provide quality construction feedback. Monitor internal and external quality, identifying production issues, and offering recommendations for resolution.
  3. Pattern & Configuration Support: Assist in modeling, establishing configuration baselines, and proving out patterns. Support pattern modifications and ensure the integrity of uniform construction.
  4. Collaboration & Feedback: Provide feedback to the Design team on technical details, including potential issues with designs, patterns, and specifications. Work closely with Designers and Program Managers to resolve challenges and ensure uniform quality.
  5. Garment Construction & Repair: Sew and construct product samples according to specifications, technical data packages, and quality requirements. Assist with repairs, small production runs, and specific sewing and embellishment projects as needed.
  6. Inspection & Measurements: Support the sample inspection process by monitoring garment measurements and identifying defects. Ensure samples meet sourcing and design specifications before progressing to production.
  7. Project Management Support: Work with Designers and Program Managers to ensure projects are completed on time and in accordance with priorities. Follow and meet deadlines, providing timely updates on the development status.
  8. Manufacturer Collaboration: Travel to manufacturers for onsite inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications. Collaborate with external partners to resolve any production challenges.
  9. Material & Inventory Management: Organize the sewing room and monitor inventory of materials, trims, and supplies. Request material replenishment as needed to support ongoing projects.
  10. Innovation & New Ideas: Work collaboratively with the Design team to sample new innovations and creative ideas, contributing to the development of new uniform designs.
  11. Problem Solving & Process Improvement: Identify and resolve product issues in a timely manner. Gather and analyze information to propose corrective actions and improve product development processes.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:

  • MA Degree and more than 10 years of related experience, OR BA Degree and more than 15 years of experience related to the position requirements, OR 15 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be with the DoD.
  • Must have the ability to pass a background screening.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
