Position Summary

Redwood Trust is seeking a creative and strategic Graphic Designer to join our dynamic marketing team. The ideal candidate is an experienced design professional who can conceptualize ideas, solve visual communication challenges, and create compelling designs that align with our brand, sub-brands, and speak to various audiences across multiple channels.

In this role, you should be knowledgeable in design theory, branding, visual storytelling, and audience engagement. You must also possess a mix of creative and technical skills and have the flexibility to work quickly while remaining detail oriented. Some responsibilities include developing creative first looks, preparing art files for print, working with templates, and making necessary revisions. We are looking for someone who can think strategically and show adaptability, someone who can produce a creative solution to a business problem – someone who has a passion and a knack for design and an understanding of marketing.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The Graphic Designer will be performing multiple tasks which include the following but not limited to, other duties may be assigned.

  • Brand & Visual Strategy: Develop and maintain brand identity consistency across all marketing materials, ensuring alignment with Redwood Trust’s positioning and messaging.
  • Creative Conceptualization: Translate marketing objectives into visually compelling concepts, incorporating design best practices for different platforms.
  • Content Development: Design marketing assets, including digital and print advertisements, social media graphics, presentations, email templates, infographics, brochures, event materials, and website visuals.
  • Multi-Audience Communication: Adapt designs and messaging to effectively speak to varied target audiences, including investors, borrowers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with marketing, sales, and leadership teams to execute creative solutions that drive engagement and business goals
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay up to date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve creative output.

Minimum Requirements: The responsibilities listed below are required. Accommodations may be made to enable the individual with disabilities to ensure the individual can perform the essential functions and responsibilities.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably within corporate, financial services, or real estate-related industries.
  • Strong understanding of branding, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Figma, and other collaborative design tools.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, including the ability to create visually compelling and informative presentations that align with brand standards.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS for email and web design is a plus.
  • Understanding of print production processes, digital design best practices, and social media content creation for platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving abilities with a passion for fresh ideas to grow the Redwood Trust brand.
  • Ability to adapt designs for different audiences and platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Quick-thinking, creative mindset with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively while building strong relationships.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, open to constructive feedback, and willing to iterate on designs based on input.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized, goal-oriented, and proactive in driving marketing initiatives forward.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $90k - 111k annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
