Mann Publications is hiring: Associate Editor in New York

Immediate Editor Hire. Must be based in NYC/ Can easily commute

Mann Publications is a family of business-to-business magazines concentrated on the real estate and fashion industries. We are seeking an associate editor to join the team to work within our group of magazines.

The position will provide the opportunity to work directly with a team of editors and writers and acquire professional experience in magazine publishing. The ideal candidate is a team player and self-starter with a strong desire to learn. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related area OR equivalent work experience

Prior experience at a magazine (particularly B2B) preferred

Responsibilities:

Key editorial tasks, including building and writing stories, sourcing images, research and fact-checking, communicating with sources, etc.

Editing and proofreading copy

Communicating with contributors and PR contacts

Creating a weekly digital newsletter

Attending industry events

Various administrative tasks, including updating contact lists, creating shipping labels, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year experience working at a publication

Intermediate level of MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

Intermediate level of InCopy

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively

Proven ability to meet deadlines

Strong creative and critical thinking skills

Attention to detail

Excellent organizational skills

Flexibility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Experience in social media, especially Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn

Willingness to learn about New York's real estate and fashion industries

Job type: Full-time

Salary Range

45-50k. Salary varies on experience.
