Overview:
Under the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Medical Director and Department Director, The Polysomnography Technician is responsible for providing Sleep Testing services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Education:
High school diploma/equivalent OR graduate of a Polysomnography program. Required Experience:
none for Certified Polysomnographic Technologist, 6 months of experience required for Registered Polysomnographic Technologist Required Certifications: Registered Polysomnography Technologist (RPSGT) required, OR; Certified Polysomnographic Technologist, OR; Registered Respiratory Therapist (or Certified Respiratory Therapist in Respiratory Care or Polysomnography) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire
Preferred Education:
Graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program. Preferred Experience:
2 years of experience in Respiratory or Sleep technology. Preferred Certifications:
Registered Polysomnography Technician. BLS Healthcare Provider certified.
