Job Description Primary Function of Position The Global Labeling group designs, develops, and supports product labeling for the full lifecycle of Intuitive' s products. Our mission is to produce, optimize and sustain product labeling solutions through progressive improvements and curious discovery. This position is within Global Labeling reporting to the Label Design and Development Manager. As a Graphic Production Designer & Label Specialist you'll work closely with internal labeling project lead/managers, designers (ID and UX) and mechanical engineers, supplier engineers and purchasing to create a print-ready system label artwork and drawings with specifications. Supplied design intents are used to create label artwork and detailed drawings; the labels are released in Agile for the supplier to manufacture the finished labels for all new and sustaining system labels. As a production designer being able to create some of the repeated drawings or artworks which are reproducible and enable efficient design to release process. Must be able to use the creativity with Label Design tools (adobe illustrator, Bartender or labeling application) to own and create Labeling artwork across BUs for Systems, Packaging Labels, Translated caution and warning system label kits for approximately 24 languages. The ideal candidate possesses innovative and adaptable passion to blend aesthetics, functionality and produce the artwork in repeated fashion. You are a self-starter with a mature attitude toward design feedback, work quickly to get the job done accurately, and have an eye for detail. You are curious, passionate, and a quick learner of complex information to become a subject matter expert in your work and Intuitive's technologies. Essential Job Duties This position requires collaborating cross-functionally among multiple departments and effectively working with Test Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Project Management, Document Control, Industrial Design-Product Graphics, Engineering. You'll work closely with fellow labeling specialists and project managers, to create quality labeling, for system and package labels to support our worldwide business needs and solutions for Intuitive manufacturing team's multiple product lines. Support and executes company initiatives/ Quality Management System (QMS) as identified by management. Manage multiple, simultaneous labeling projects and to meet specified department and corporate requirements and goal deadlines. Coordinate with internal project leads/managers and stakeholders to ensure our labels meet compliance, regulatory and legal requirements. Requires intense focus and attention to detail. Equally important is the ability to handle pressure, short timeframes, the unexpected, and to keep projects running smoothly. Qualifications Required Skills and Experience Demonstrated ownership, supporting, and managing deadlinesamong cross functional teams, while organizing and prioritizing multiple projects within a fast-paced environment and capable of executing frequent iterations with patience. Ability to learn quickly, comprehend complex technical information, and express concepts in both verbal and written forms. Recognize critical issues, problem solve, respond quickly, often under pressure, and to see issues to closure with your coordinated direction. Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal, organizational and self-management skills required. Required Education and Training Minimum education: BS / BA Minimum of 4+ years product labeling experience working within a highly regulated, medical device or life science environment. Skilled knowledge and user of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat Pro, Sketch, Figma or other similar applications Familiarity with CAD drawings and ability to interpret them accurately, as well as the ability to visualize the product thee-dimensionally with marking or labeling. Experience with or knowledge of the following printing processes: screen, pad and laser printing for on product markings, and screened printing on UL-compliant Polycarbonate labeling material for system labels is necessary. Ability to specify color and complex die cut measurements, in both inches and metrics, and communicate other pertinent details to the supplier via supplier drawings. Responsible for execution final review and approval of supplier proof and approve first article reports in SAP. Support automated packaging labeling design, executing and processing labels using ILMS, a custom version of Innovatum, as well as BarTender for legacy labeling. Able to execute required label qualifications including attribute, images, symbols and translations tables, and provide training and problem-solving assistance Troubleshoot issues, communicate impact and propose solutions. Support and execute complex/major design change projects in conjunction with Product Labeling Design and Development project managers and engineering teams. Should be able to execute tasks independently for minor projects which requires minimum content updates/changes (for ex. version change etc.) Proven critical thinker with the ability to research issue, consider alternative viewpoints, clearly reason, review, solution problems, and make recommendations on key issues with stakeholder input. Preferred Skills and Experience Proficient in Design, Layout, and Color theory Proficient user of enterprise level project management software such as Tableau, Smartsheet or similar products. SAP is a plus. Experience with change management or document control processes, possessing a working knowledge or experience with Agile PLM or similar PLM business systems.
